Farmstead means “a farm and its buildings.” We like a broader definition: the farm, its buildings, its coops and compost piles and packing stations, its old tractor and dependable wheelbarrow, its farmers and family, its friends and clients, the people it feeds, the free-range peacock and wild pheasant that roam through its brush, the community that grows with and along and because of its abundance and sustenance.

“That fills my bucket!”
Our goal is that the abundance and sustenance we grow is not only juicy corn and crisp apples, but the relationships we cultivate and the community we sew. “Filling buckets” is a concept we’ve adopted as a young family to learn and celebrate how being kind and respectful to others can make them feel good, and causes us to feel good about ourselves, too. On our farm, when a gift is given or a chore is done, we’ll often say, “thank you, that really fills my bucket!”
The Full Bucket is a symbol of care, gratitude, pride, and kinship.

We’re a family of four: Jeremy, Chelsea, Riley, and Juniper. We moved to Northern Michigan in 2021 to establish our farmstead. Together we bring 10 years experience in farming, 18 years in writing and marketing, and 8- and 4-years-worth of awe and excitement to our farm endeavor.
